The Georgia Bulldogs will play Mississippi State in Starkville Saturday night hoping to get back into the win column after a tough Kentucky road loss.

The Georgia Bulldogs will have their opportunity to makeup for a brutal road loss to the Kentucky Wildcats on Tuesday night at Rupp Arena, 82-48, when the Dawgs travel to Starkville to take on Ben Howland’s Mississippi State Bulldogs Saturday night. Tipoff is at Humphrey Coliseum at 8:00 PM ET and the SEC Network will broadcast this game.

While the Dawgs have struggled away from Stegeman Coliseum (1-6), UGA has a better overall record and a better record in SEC play than does Mississippi State. Georgia enters play Saturday night with a 13-9 regular season record and are 6-5 in SEC play. The Georgia Bulldogs are in sixth place in the SEC Standings entering their game Saturday night with Mississippi State.

Mississippi State in its first year under head coach Ben Howland are a 10-13 team on the year and 3-8 in the SEC. The Bulldogs from Starkville are one of three teams in the SEC that are below .500 on the year and are only ahead of the Auburn Tigers and the Missouri Tigers in the conference standings this season in 12th place.

Surely, the Georgia Bulldogs want to give a better performance than they showed against the Kentucky Wildcats on Tuesday night in Lexington, but winning on the road has been a huge issue for Mark Fox’s team this year.

Outside of the starting backcourt of J.J. Frazier, Kenny Gaines, and Charles Mann, most of the 2015-16 Georgia Bulldogs Men’s Team are underclassmen. Perhaps that is a reason behind the Dawgs’ road woes in 2015-16?

To win a much-needed road game, the Dawgs are going to need to do better than shooting 20.0% from the field like they did in Lexington. The team has to find some go-to scorer when the starting backcourt’s jumpers aren’t falling and sophomore power forward Yante Maten is either on the bench or in foul trouble.

Georgia has seven more games left in the regular season before the SEC Tournament. If Georgia wants to have a strong 2016-17 season without Mann and Gaines who will have graduated by then, then the Dawgs will need a new star to emerge in final weeks of the 2015-16 NCAA season.
