Lorenzo Carter’s raw and undeniable talent essentially forced outside linebackers coach Kevin Sherrer to find creative ways to get more than two outside linebackers on the field at the same time. Carter would often play on the outside with Leonard Floyd either playing inside linebacker or at the STAR in 2015.

Entering his junior season with the Georgia Bulldogs, the stage is all Carter’s to have a dynamic year in 2016, as he won’t have to grind for playing time because both Jordan Jenkins and Leonard Floyd are entering the 2016 NFL Draft. Lorenzo Carter and fellow junior Davin Bellamy are going to start on the outside for Kirby Smart in 2016.

Carter’s athleticism could prove even more useful in 2016, as he could in theory play in several roles like Floyd did in 2016. Georgia does have other holes in its defense that Carter could help fill at times in different defensive sets.

However, Lorenzo Carter is at his best when rushing the quarterback and trying to disrupt the passer. He has great football instincts and is often thinking a step or two ahead before the offensive play even unfolds. With little to no restrictions in terms of playing time, expect Lorenzo Carter to have a dominating junior season in the SEC in 2016.
