The Georgia Bulldogs will look to end their two-game losing streak when they take on the rival Auburn Tigers down on The Plains Wednesday night.

The Georgia Bulldogs are riding a two-game losing streak and are losers in three of their last four games. Although Georgia has been a great team this year, they have a strong chance to get their 15th win on the season when the take on the Auburn Tigers Wednesday night at Auburn Arena. Tipoff is at 7:00 PM ET and the game will air on the SEC Network.

While Georgia has only won two road games this season, they have come against two of the three worst teams in the SEC in the Missouri Tigers and the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Georgia has already beaten Auburn on February 6th, 65-55, and looks to make it a season sweep in SEC play.

Georgia enters play with a 14-11 record on the year and 7-7 in SEC play, currently in eighth place in the conference. Auburn is 10-16 on the year and 4-10 in SEC play under head coach Bruce Pearl. The Dawgs are not an NCAA Tournament team this year, but should stand a strong chance at winning on the road against a 13th place Auburn Tigers team on Wednesday.

With only four games remaining before the SEC Tournament, the Georgia Bulldogs need to play well down the stretch to hopefully get a bye of sorts in the conference tournament. While UGA is not going to finish in the top four in the SEC this year and get a double bye, perhaps finishing in fifth or sixth is a realistic goal to get a first round bye.

That being said, maybe that extra game in the SEC Tournament could help Mark Fox’s team inch closer to what is now an unrealistic goal of 20 wins on the year. To reach that total, Georgia would have to win their final four games in SEC play and win two in the SEC Tournament.

If the team is lucky enough to get an invitation to another postseason tournament like the NIT, then perhaps the win total could increase if Georgia wants to extend their down season a bit longer.

What Georgia needs to do against Auburn is to hold their own on the glass, play their usually strong brand of defense, and shoot from a higher clip from the field. If the Georgia Bulldogs can find a way to elevate the play of their frontcourt depth, the better prepared the team will be for the SEC Tournament in a few weeks.
