Atlanta Hawks: Paul Millsap does it again
The Atlanta Hawks power forward Paul Millsap was named to the NBA’s All-Defensive second team on Wednesday. Based on Millsap’s efforts this season, who is really surprised?
There’s no denying that Paul Millsap had a solid 2015-16 season, especially on defense. Think back to all of those blocks. This regular season, he had 139. Even if he didn’t succeed at blocking a shot, rest assured he was going to do everything in his power to protect the rim.
There is also that explosive aspect of Millsap that tends to aid the Atlanta Hawks when they need it most. Who could forget playoff Game 4 against the Boston Celtics when Millsap put up 45 points?
It’s safe to say that Millsap has been the Hawks’ most productive player. Though he was the 47th pick of the 2006 draft (selected by the Utah Jazz), he has more than proven himself over the years.
In 2015-16, Millsap exceeded 250 assists, 125 blocks, 125 steals, 700 rebounds, and 50 three pointers all in the same season. Is it any wonder the Hawks are calling him “Do-It-All Paul”?
This season, Millsap carried the Atlanta Hawks with 17.1 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists. His efforts throughout the year are undeniable.
