Georgia Bulldogs: Dawgs Fall in Unbelievable Fashion
By Kit Anderson
The Georgia Bulldogs had a tall order Saturday afternoon taking on the 11th rated Tennessee Volunteers. The game started out heavily in the Dawgs favor with them taking a quick 17-0 lead late in the 1st half.
Georgia did a great job running the ball getting large chunks of yardage on the ground and opening up the passing attack for Jacob Eason. The team looked the best it has since the first game this season. The offensive line looked improved and played very aggressively. Jacob Eason played a great game, minus a mistake that he made up for on the Dawg’s final drive of the game.
The Tennessee Volunteers made a late comeback after the Dawgs had controlled most of the game Joshua Dobbs engineered a late drive to go ahead on the Dawgs 28-24 with very little time left in the fourth quarter.

Jacob Eason put together one of the best drives of his young career converting two first downs before firing a forty-seven yard bomb to Riley Ridley with a little under nineteen seconds left in the game. The Dawgs looked to be pulling off one of the biggest upsets in recent memory.
The drive perfectly showcased Jacob Eason’s ability and the fact that the Dawgs team hadn’t given up despite some late setbacks. The game looked to be over for the Vols, they received the ensuing kickoff and due to a couple of missed tackles by the Dawgs got great field position with four seconds left to throw one last ball to the end zone.
Joshua Dobbs delivered a hail mary to the front of the end zone that was caught and ended the Dawgs hopes of an upset. It was a heartbreaking ending to a game that the Dawgs looked to have well in hand with very few seconds to go.
The Bulldogs made so many improvements and had played with so much heart throughout this game the loss will have a toll on both the players and coaches. As a Bulldog’s fan it is hard to feel good about this one despite the improvements. They were so close and with better coverage should have won this game.
On the flip side you have to credit a talented Tennessee Volunteers team with yet another come from behind victory to remain perfect on the current season. The Volunteers become division favorites with this win and could have locked up their division.
