The Atlanta Falcons made life hard on themselves Sunday turning the ball over and letting the Bucs close in on them in the division race with Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs.

The Atlanta Falcons fell to 7-5 on the season losing Sunday to the Kansas City Chiefs 29-28 on a late Matt Ryan pick that was returned for a two point conversion it was the second time a Ryan pick was taken back for a score.

Ryan’s picks were perfect examples of why Matt Ryan shouldn’t be in the MVP discussions or will ever win an MVP. He is a very good quarterback who has been quietly great for many seasons. The problem for Ryan over the last couple of seasons is when its time to make THE play to win the game he makes decisions like the one he made Sunday on the Falcon’s two point conversion attempt. Eric Berry picked off Ryan’s pass and took it all the way.

That has been the problem for the 2016 Falcons while they are no doubt much better than last years very flawed team they still struggle to win if the Falcon’s offense or Matt Ryan misses a beat or makes a single mistake the Falcons are going to struggle to win.

With that said this loss shouldn’t be concerning considering the ease of the remainder of the Falcon’s schedule. They will play the Rams and 49ers the next two weeks of the season, both teams that they should beat putting them in position to at worst split their remaining two division games putting them at 10-6 on the season which should be more than enough to snatch a wildcard spot if not the division.

The two teams expected t be fighting for the bottom of the division will now be fighting for the top and the right to host a playoff game. The Falcons next game will come against the Rams Sunday on FOX.
