  1. Julio Teheran

The Braves “ace” for the past few seasons has been Julio Teheran. Teheran has struggled with inconsistencies over the course of his career. Despite his struggles he is the Braves best pitcher and at his best can match up against any pitcher in the league.

After struggling in 2015 and finishing with an earned run average over four he bounced back in 2016, pitching deep into games and keeping an anemic offense in the game. While he did miss some time due to injury when he was a part of the rotation he was easily the Braves best pitcher last season and will be again in 2017.

It is also of note the decision that the Braves made to keep Julio Teheran. Not that long ago Randall Delgado and Julio Teheran were considered of the same talent level and the D-backs asked for either player in return for slugger Justin Upton. In retrospect it shows how good a decision that the Braves made to part with Delgado as opposed to Teheran. The Braves made a similar move last off-season moving Shelby Miller who collapsed after a career best year with the Braves.

Julio Teheran will lead the rotation in 2017 and enjoy one of his best seasons as a Brave. Projected numbers: 11-5-Record, 176 K’s, 3.45 ERA, and 189.0 Innings pitched.
