Atlanta Braves: What to Expect From the Braves’ Rotation
By Kit Anderson
- Bartolo Colon
If you pay attention to the Braves schedule or division rivals it is likely that you have taken notice of Bartolo Colon. Colon has long been a Met’s fan favorite since coming to New York and for good reason. Colon is playing baseball the way it should be played, whether he is playing catch on the mound or taking hilarious swings at the plate the veteran pitcher is fun to watch and a great piece both for the team in the clubhouse and on the field.
Colon has had a long career that started in 1997 with the Cleveland Indians and has made stops at over 10 other franchises in his career. What has been most underrated about Colon over the past few seasons is the ability to keep his team in the game and pile up wins without putting up great numbers. His ERA or strikeout numbers may not be flashy but he uses his decreased velocity to his advantage and keeps his team in games.
Adding Colon to their roster was one of the best moves that the Braves made this off-season. He will help them win games as well as helping keep things light and a good atmosphere off the field. Braves fans have a lot to look forward to watching Colon put on a Braves jersey. Project Stats: 13-6 Record,122 K’s,3.87 ERA, and 185.0 Innings pitched.
