Is Atlanta Falcon’s quarterback Matt Ryan the MVP?

The Atlanta Falcons have enjoyed success this season because of the performance that Matt Ryan has put together. Ryan has been the best and most consistent quarterback in the League and has remained healthy and on the field unlike Tom Brady or Derek Carr.  Considering that combined with his league leading stats Ryan deserves to be the League’s MVP.

Ryan leads all MVP candidates in yardage, big plays, yards per game, completion percentage, average yards per throw, and most importantly is the most important player on his team. Aside from Derek Carr Ryan is more valuable to his team than any other MVP candidate in the league.

The Patriots without Tom Brady? They still had a winning record at 3-1 and looked like contenders without Tom Brady. The Cowboy’s rookie sensations, Dak goes down you have Romo. Ezekiel Elliot is a solid MVP candidate but when you look at their offensive ability without Zeke in the backfield he is much like Julio Jones is to the Falcons. There is no questioning when he is on the field he is dynamic but the offense can continue to move and have a good chance to win without him.

Ryan’s biggest competition should be Aaron Rodgers and Derek Carr. Because of what Carr and Rodgers mean to their respective teams and the numbers they have put up they both deserve to have their names in the MVP discussion. What should be the deciding factor is the stats and who has had the better season. When you begin to look at the numbers it becomes clear that Ryan has had the best statistical season piling up yardage and touchdowns without turning the ball over.

Matt Ryan is playing the best he has every played at any point in his NFL career. He has his team in position for a Super Bowl run all reliant on the best offense in the league. Ryan is not only deserving of the MVP but is the clear choice if voters choose to vote who is truly the MVP not the way they have in the past onwho has the best story line. If that is the case Ryan has no chance against the Cowboy’s rookies or Aaron Rodgers.
