  1. Julio Teheran

Teheran is the Braves’ ace for the time being whether or not he truly is an “ace” is debatable, what is not debatable is that he is Atlanta’s best pitcher and barring any unforeseen trades will be the Braves opening day starter in 2017.

Teheran’s inconsistencies and hot-and-cold streaks have slowed down what otherwise has been an impressive start to his career. He has carried a Braves pitching staff that has suffered from limited talent over the past three seasons and has the ability at his best to go against the best aces in the National League. Teheran is locked up on a team friendly deal and is a building block for this franchise and rightly so considering his level of talent and that he may just now be entering his prime.

He is still only twenty-five years old and may be entering the best years of his career. Whether or not he takes another step forward as a pitcher he is a talented player that the Braves can build a rotation of young arms around.

Teheran at his best is a pitcher that fools batters with a combination of mid-range velocity and lots of movement.   He is a talented pitcher who will look to continue to get better in 2017.
