Atlanta Braves: Atlanta’s Top Five Players For 2017
By Kit Anderson
- Ender Inciarte
Inciarte has drawn many comparisons to Andrelton Simmons since he has joined the Braves team. His ability to make defensive plays that save runs in center field is truly impressive and a big part of the reason the Braves locked up Inciarte to a five-year deal to keep him in Atlanta for a long time to come.
The biggest difference between Ender and Simmons is Inciarte’s ability at the plate and his speed around the bases. After struggling the first half of the season Inciarte caught fire after the all-star break hitting .341 with 100 hits and a .396 on base percentage. The offensive tear that he maintained for over 3 months was impressive and along with his run saving defense showed just how good Inciarte is.
While you could make an argument for Teheran as the second best player on the team, Ender will play most every day while Teheran will only work in 25-30 games throughout the entire season. Because of that Inciarte has a slight edge and is the Braves’ second best player on their current roster.
Ender Inciarte is a very good player who uses his hustle and line drive hitting approach on offense to create runs and will continue to save the Braves a lot of runs in center field.
