  1. Chris Archer would fit in Atlanta

The Atlanta Braves’ roster is full of talent and a legitimate two or three big moves away from competing for postseason yet again. One of those moves would be spending for an ace and stop waiting on the farm to bring one. Archer is a very talented pitcher who would bring stability to the Braves’ rotation slotting in ahead of Julio Teheran and allowing the Braves to have a legitimate 1-2 punch that would rival almost any other rotation’s.

Chris Archer is going to cost whoever does trade for the Ray’s ace a lot more than most teams will be comfortable paying. When you consider what the Braves received in return for Shelby Miller a less heralded starter you will get an idea of just how much Archer will cost.

Cost versus value is a very tricky guessing game in this case that the Braves are going to have to choose between exactly as they did with Chris Sale. In the end the Braves have fallen in love with prospects and there is little chance that they do acquire the ace that they need. While that is understandable it is also fair to point out just how much an ace would cost the Braves on the free agent market and how small of a chance that they will find one within their own farm.

Once they consider that and if the price is anywhere close the Braves need to pull the trigger and bring Chris Archer to Atlanta.
