6. Another Weapon?

Jacob Tamme and Levine Toilolo are both set to become free agents and it is time to let both players walk. Tiololo took some steps forward this season but doesn’t bring anything to the team that Austin Hooper cannot as he matures as both a pass catcher and a blocker.

Jacob Tamme has success last season with Ryan before struggling to finish the year with injuries, then again this season he showed chemistry with Ryan before a season ending injury this time. Tamme is not staying healthy and should be let go to another team in favor of adding another receiving tight-end.

Hooper is maturing into a solid target but along with a good pass catching tight end could benefit greatly both this season and the seasons to come. The Falcons could look to add a tight-end in the draft but with the thin field to pick from a safer bet would be adding former Colt Jack Doyle.

Doyle has proven to be a durable tight-end that will not have the price tag of a top receiving tight-end but could easily become one with the amount of weapons that the defense will try to take away from Matt Ryan. Doyle may not be much of a vertical threat but he would offer Ryan a solid tight-end target that he has lacked in recent years.

There is no doubt that the Atlanta Falcons are sitting in a good position but now isn’t the time to become complacent. The Falcons need to make moves in free-agency and improve their team in hopes of another playoff run this season.
