Atlanta Braves: Five Reasons They Are Ready To Compete
Believe in R.A Dickey & Bartolo Colon.
Braves Country, this might be one of the hardest thing out of any of these reasons to count on but these two veterans still have plenty left in the tank. Just last season Colon finished the year with a record of 15-8 with a 3.43 ERA, and Dickey finished the season 10-15 with a 4.46 ERA.
There are plenty of reasons to believe in these two veterans to give this young rotation a much needed shot in the arm, and if this team intends on contending with the likes of the Nationals and Mets these two will have to turn back the clock one more time. Dickey could benefit from the downgrade in hitters he will face compared to the talented AL East lineups he had to face with regularity.
For Colon the Braves will expect more of the same from the entertaining pitcher who does a great job pitching deep into games and keeping his team close. Colon is a pitcher who won’t wow with his pitches but always seems to get the key outs when he needs them most. Braves fans will be pleasantly surprised with Colon and happy to see him in our dugout.
