Atlanta Falcons: Should They Resign These Key Free Agents?

Dwight Freeney– Freeney could be credited in part with Vic Beasley’s breakout season. Helping the young pass rusher develop and turn into one of the best in the game. Freeney is a situational pass rusher at this point in his career and could be picked up by any number of teams.
For Freeney the deciding factor should be cost versus value. If the Falcons decide to add complimentary pieces to their defensive line and avoid adding one big name bringing Freeney back would be the right move to make if he does decide to play for another season.
Courtney Upshaw– Upshaw was perhaps the most surprising of any of the Falcon’s veteran additions getting pressure often and helping the team with his versatility. Upshaw should be brought back next season based on not only the recent success but his ability to fill multiple roster holes.
Upshaw may not be the big name pass rusher that the Falcons will need to add but he was an important piece that they should bring back and would not be easy to replace.
