One of the highest touted and rated recruits of the much ballyhooed 2017 Freshman class, Gibbs already is an early enrollee, and already has the body of an NFL player. It is usually the case that true Freshman don’t get much playing time on a quality SEC Defense, but Gibbs is too good to keep off of the field. In fact, he’s the type of player that represents the ridiculous talent coming out of high school these days.

Still, Gibbs is a true Freshman and they make too many mistakes, usually, to see significant playing time. To be sure, he will make plenty. That’s why this Spring is important for him, and for the team. It won’t make or break his career. But if Gibbs can contribute to a transitioning Secondary in dire need of depth and contribution, in his Freshman year, UGA’s Defense could be one of the best in the SEC. And that isn’t hyperbole.
