See: Deangelo Gibbs and repeat here. Richard LeCounte III was ‘The Godfather” of the phenom laden 2017 Georgia Recruiting class. One of the phrases that seemed to circle that group was “savages want to play with savages”. LeCounte was the first recruit to “Commit To The G” when Coach Kirby Smart took the Georgia job, and no one was more vocal in recruiting other top players from the state of Georgia.

Due to the aforementioned attrition in UGA’s Secondary (Smith, Wilkerson, McGraw, Briscoe, Wilson), young players will be needed to step up. Like Gibbs, LeCounte is an early enrollee and has a chance to snatch a place and playing time on the back-end of Georgia’s Defense. While it is never ideal to have that kind of youth back there, coaches speak of LeCounte as a young man who is physically ready to contribute. It’s just a matter of being mentally and emotionally ready. That starts on Tuesday, March 21st.
