The 2017 incarnation of the Georgia Football program began Spring practice Tuesday, March 21st, and these five players need a breakout Spring for their future and the team’s future.

Rodrigo Blankenship (R-SO) was one of the few surprises last year that were actually good surprises. After initially losing the job in Fall Camp, Blankenship came back to win the job, made 14-18 FGs, was perfect in extra points, was the team’s leading scorer, and was All-SEC Freshman team voted on by league coaches.

In 2017, though, “The kid with the goggles” definitely has room for improvement, and the Dawgs need him to improve. Naturally, 18-18 on FGs would be a welcome improvement. But the main thing here is on Kickoffs. It was rare for there to be any touchbacks. Consequently, the opposing team usually had decent field position. With the additions of David Marvin and Cameron Nizialek, Blankenship needs to have a great Spring to solidify his position.
