The starting Catcher for the Atlanta Braves, Tyler Flowers, is a big-bodied dude with a nasty streak (something you look for in a Catcher), and hails from Roswell. He played football and baseball at Blessed Trinity High School, and is in their Hall of Fame. Unlike Swanson, though, he actually was drafted by the Braves in 2005, only to be traded later to the Chicago White Sox.

While Flowers’ career numbers aren’t stellar, he has a chance to make his mark at a position currently in flux for the Atlanta Braves. In 2016, Flowers hit .270 in 83 games and 281 AB. If he can duplicate that effort, and sustain that type of production over a longer season, the “Roswell Kid” could solidify his place behind the plate for a few years. Also, if he does that, Atlanta’s lineup could be legitimately good.
