  1. Julio Teheran

Teheran has been the Braves opening day starter for the last few seasons and will get that honor again this season. Julio may not be a prototypical ace but he is an ace nonetheless. He keeps his team in games and is able to match up against another teams top starter any given night.

Locking up Teheran on a team friendly long term deal was one thing that the Frank Wren led front office did right. Teheran has struggled at times with consistency but has seemed to put those struggles behind him for the time being.

Julio isn’t going to miss a lot of bats but he is also a great pitcher who hasn’t been very lucky over the past few seasons. With next to no run support and poor defense behind him Teheran’s numbers have suffered the effects. This season that will change with a better lineup that will give Teheran some much needed support during his outings this season.

Julio Teheran has been set up for the best season of his career and will have a good chance to put up great numbers if the offense stays healthy and produces as expected.
