  1. Brandon Phillips

Adding Brandon Phillips may be one of the more under rated moves of the Braves busy off-season. Phillips is a fiery player that has proven at times to be able to give a team a jump start when they are struggling. You can trust he will be at the center of any brawls that the Braves find themselves in this season and will always attempt to make the flashy play at second.

Phillips is a good hitter but age is starting to catch up with him and with it a bit of regression should be expected in some areas of his game this season. Adding Phillips with the injury to Sean Rodriguez will send Jace Peterson to the bench as well giving the Braves more defensive depth.

In recent years Phillips has sacrificed power for average and that is the right decision to make for the veteran player. His addition makes the Braves first six bats a solid lineup that will carry a solid on base percentage as well as having its fair share of power. Phillips will start for the Braves until a certain prospect in the system puts him on the bench.
