Atlanta Falcons: Previewing Their 2017 Opponents
By Kit Anderson
New Orleans Saints
As always the Falcons will play the Saints both at New Orleans and host the Saints for a home game as well. If the Falcons cannot sweep both of these games they are doing something wrong. That isn’t a knock on Sean Payton or Drew Brees but the rest of the roster that seems to be void of talent.
When your biggest move of the off-season is trading your top wide receiver to the Super Bowl champs you may not have the playoffs in mind for the following season. Brees and the Saints are always going to play the Falcons tough that is just the nature of their rivalry but with the lack of weapons Brees has the defensive roster the Saints have the Falcons should go 2 for 2 this season against the Saints.
Drew Brees seems to be a machine of a quarterback putting up gaudy numbers at an age he is supposed to be slowing down and showing his age. While another Super Bowl may not be in his future there is a good chance that Brees ends his career leading in many major quarterback career stats, assuming that he can stay healthy.
While it may be hard to enjoy watching another team’s quarterback play Falcons fans should watch and appreciate Drew Brees while they can.
