  1. Dansby Swanson

Position scarcity is one of the most over hyped stories in fantasy sports. The only position that there is a bit of truth in the theory is at shortstop. Shortstop is an offensively thin position that you may opt to look at for stolen base value or the ability not to pile up negative stats in general.

Swanson is going to be one of the most tempting adds for Braves fans considering the excitement surrounding the young shortstop.  Swanson isn’t going to steal a lot of bases or hit a lot of homeruns but is worth the average draft price.

He is a good upside pick that is worth the time to try and actively add to your roster. With the caution that he is a young player that is going to go through struggles in his first big league season. Adding Swanson to a strike out prone or offensively weak lineup may not be the best of ideas. He should be added only to offenses who have low expectations for Swanson with the knowledge that he has a high upside.

Similar Options: Jose Peraza is a name that a lot of Braves fans will remember and a good add to a fantasy lineup. Peraza’s upside and ability to steal bases should make him a player to target if Swanson’s price is too high.
