Atlanta Braves: Top Five Fantasy Options
By Kit Anderson
- The Braves Outfield
Nick Markakis- Markakis was once a very good fantasy option in the outfield but with declining power shouldn’t be more than a bench piece. Markakis is a good hitter but showed a higher tendency to strike out and declining power both are good reasons to stay away for Markakis unless the price is next to nothing.
Ender Inciarte- Inciarte went on a tear in the second half of the season that saw him hit as well as any player in baseball in the second half. With healthy legs this season and a better lineup hitting after him Inciarte is a very good add as a bench piece or as a late round starter in center field.
His ability in the outfield is well known what isn’t is if he is the hitter that struggled in the first half of the season or the one who seemed to get a hit every time he visited the plate. Target Inciarte but with caution and with a solid back-up plan in place.
Matt Kemp- Kemp is a prototypical cleanup hitter he is going to pile up a lot of strike outs but at the same time hit a lot of balls over the fence while driving in runs. Kemp is a starting outfielder who is going for his worth in draft but is worth the price.
