The Atlanta Braves are heating up and pulled their record back to .500 after twelve games this season. The Braves completed a sweep of the Padres in comeback walk-off fashion on Monday night.

Dansby Swanson gave the Braves their fifth straight win on Monday night and helped the Atlanta Braves complete their first four game sweep of the Padres in over a decade. Swanson scalded the ball into the outfield to give the Braves a 5-4 walk-off win that caps off a great week of Braves baseball.

The Braves have caught fire and seem to be playing with the confidence that they showed the final two months of the 2016 season. The difference this year? They have acquired legitimate pitching and will benefit from a full season of Matt Kemp who is set to be activated from the DL on Wednesday.

Winning five games in a row isn’t easy for any Major League team especially early in the season. The Braves ability to turn around their shaky start on the road and get back to .500 is causing some fans to begin to wonder if this team could become surprise contenders?

While it is early in April and impossible to answer that question for sure Braves fans have to feel good about their team’s chances if they remain healthy. The one concern in the rotation has been Mike Foltynewicz who has been shaky in both his appearances so far this season one from the bullpen.

He is set to make his second start of the year on Tuesday night and will go against the Washington Nationals ace of staff. The one advantage for the Braves will be having the Nationals at home and they will need all the help they can get slowing down Bryce Harper and Daniel Murphy.
