Atlanta Falcons: Will Not Suffer Collapse
By Kit Anderson
Much has been written about the Atlanta Falcons suffering a post-Super Bowl collapse. Do they have a point are the Falcons going to suffer a Super Bowl hangover as it were after blowing the biggest game in franchise history?
The Atlanta Falcons suffered the biggest collapse in Super Bowl history we get it. That may take a bit away from the season that they had but it takes none of the talent from the roster that has plenty of talent and no reason to think they could not repeat as NFC champions.
Give the Falcons Matt Ryan and Julio Jones and they have a punchers chance in any game add in a young and exciting defense and one of the better offensive line units and the Falcons have one of the deepest rosters in the NFC.
The running back tandem of Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman will be back for at least another season as well and should continue to be the most productive backfield unit in the NFL. While they may not be the best rushers in the NFL their abilities in the passing game makes them near un- guard-able.
One area that the team has gotten weaker is their play calling ability with their offensive coordinator taking a head coaching job of his own. That is the only possible fallout for a roster with so much speed and talent.
The defense has reloaded both in the run stopping department and their linebacking corp that was already one of the quickest in the game. The roster has three legitimate starting cornerbacks as well including a shutdown corner in Trufant.
