With their robust reclamation and reconstruction project in full swing, the Atlanta Braves needed new faces and additions to contribute in 2017. These five players have done just that.

Pitcher Jason Motte is no stranger to pressure or big games. If his name sounds familiar, he led the league in saves in 2012 with 42. He was a major part of the World Series winning St. Louis Cardinals. This is his 9th year in the league, and though he’s had ups and downs, the hope was that he could provide relief and consistency.

In 13 games, so far, Motte boasts a 1.50 ERA with 9 strikeouts in 13 innings pitched. Frankly, he’s been the best and most consistent pitcher from the pen this year. His set up role in the 6th or 7th innings has been invaluable as to why Atlanta is sniffing .500 and respectability.
