One of the reasons he is here, as he isn’t the starting Cather for the Braves, is that his contribution has been limited but very timely and significant.
Aside from the fact that he had a great series against the division leading Washington Nationals at the plate, his ability to catch knuckleballer R.A. Dickey is a unique gift, and he gives starting Catcher, Tyler Flowers, planned rest.
If Kurt Suzuki can hit at a .260 clip, catch a knuckle ball, and spell the starting Catcher, he is a valuable asset in any clubhouse.
