Major League Baseball just held and finished its amateur draft for 2017. The Atlanta Braves, like most teams, have a history of hit and miss. Here is a review.

2007: (RF) Jason Heyward-14th Overall

Mr. Heyward needs no introduction to Braves fans. In fact, his absence, while ameliorated by the great play of Nick Markakis, is still felt.

Hometown kid. Cannon for an arm. Speed on the bags. Can hit for average and power. Heyward was the 5-tool player of our future. But injuries persisted, and Atlanta’s Front Office was unwilling to pay him the big money he requested, and he left in 2015.

Still a fan favorite, we wish ATLien Jason Heyward well. Just not against our Braves.
