  1. Trade Matt Adams if Freeman’s Return is Close

Matt Adams joined the Atlanta Braves in what could go down as one of the best deals of the season. When the Braves lost Freddie Freeman many fans and writers alike believed the Braves offense to be set for a slump and it was a safe assumption considering in the seasons past the Braves offense goes as Freeman does.

Adding Matt Adams for next to nothing provided the Braves with a first baseman who may not be Freddie Freeman but he has been very close providing consistent production and another big bat in the lineup. So why trade a player who has shown so much talent?

Matt Adams is not going to displace franchise player Freddier Freeman and with the only other option being to place Adams in left field and displace Matt Kemp there is nowhere for Adams to play. Not playing Adams everyday would leave him as a bench bat despite the fact he has shown he is worth putting in the lineup every day.

Trading Adams to address another need or add to the Braves farm system is the right decision to make if Freeman is close to returning. Matt Adams has played well and become a fan favorite in his short tenure but it is a business and the best move is to trade Adams.
