  1. Six-Man Rotation Will not Work

The fact that the Braves are talking about using a six-man rotation speaks of how highly they think of Sean Newcomb to an extent. It also underlines that they are not willing to give up on Bartolo Colon no matter how horrible he has been so far this season.

Finding a way to stay with a six man rotation for long with the lack of talent in the Braves veteran pitching staff is going to be difficult and is not going to last. Which brings us to which piece could the Braves get the best return for. The answer is Jaime Garcia with Colon’s awful start and Dickey’s age Garcia is the most marketable of the Braves pitchers that they would be willing to give up.

With Garcia set to become a free agent at the end of the season as well it would seem inevitable that the Braves take advantage of his value and move back to a more reasonable five-man rotation. Hopefully the Braves find a way to make this move before trading Garcia. Regardless Garcia should be on the move before the deadline.
