Atlanta Falcons: Julio Jones Ranked Third Best Player
By Kit Anderson
The Atlanta Falcons have enjoyed having many of their players ranked among the annual player rankings. Julio Jones was the highest ranked of any Falcons player ranking third making him easily the highest ranked receiver in the League.
Julio Jones has long been the Atlanta Falcons best player and he is starting to receive the attention he deserves because of it. While the player rankings have taken a lot of deserved heat Julio Jones coming in at number three as the highest ranked receiver seems to be about right considering the two players ahead of him.
Only the worshiped Aaron Rodgers and all-time great Tom Brady were ranked ahead of Jones. Ranking Rodgers and Brady ahead of Jones is more than fair considering the impact that they have on their teams though if it was solely based on position and not position value Jones would have an argument for best player in the League.
His ability to make unbelievable catches going over the top of defenders and than outrunning the field all-together makes him the most complete receiver in the League. He is headed into a season where he has arguably the most talent around him at any point in his career and will be the focal point of the offense yet again.
Jones is a player on his worst day that can get 100 receiving yards and keep the secondary occupied double teaming him. On his best days you will see Jones making plays like he did against the Panthers when he went for three bills or in the playoffs against the Packers when he was interfered with and still managed to catch the ball and run through the Packers secondary for a touchdown.
Falcons fans need to enjoy Jones while they have him not only is he the best player on the field but one of the best receivers to every play the game.
