Atlanta Braves: Ender Inciarte an All-Star
By Kit Anderson
The Atlanta Braves will have at least one player that will represent them in the All-star game. Ender Inciarte was named to the All-star reserves as the All-star roster was revealed last night on ESPN.
Atlanta Braves fans may be used to watching Ender Inciarte play incredible defense in center but it has earned him recognition beyond just his small market team with Inciarte making the All-star team. The Braves lead-off man is impressive both at the plate and in the field leading off for the Braves this season Inciarte is getting on base at an impressive clip.
He does many of the little things as well that helps make a good team and a good clubhouse. His hustle in the field and on the bases are underrated and part of what makes him one of the best center fielders in baseball.
Inciarte is not the only Brave deserving of going to the All-star game. Matt Kemp and Tyler Flowers are both having impressive seasons at the plate that are well deserving of sending both players to the All-star game.
While it is disappointing for Braves fans to not have more of their players represented the All-star game has become somewhat of a meaningless contest to many fans that does hold an injury risk for the players.
Allowing Braves players to rest for a full week and get back to full health is more important both for the player and the team. The Braves are a team that are sitting on the cusp of contention hanging around .500.
If the Braves can get on a roll coming out of the extra rest from the All-star break it would not be surprising to see this roster in the wildcard or even the division race later in the season. This is a Braves roster that is quickly improving and headed in the right direction.
