Atlanta Falcons: Julio Jones Set For Best Season Yet
By Kit Anderson
Atlanta Falcons wideout Julio Jones has been one of the best in the League for quite some time. While it may seem odd to predict a career best year coming off of a season that saw Jones in a Super Bowl that is exactly what Jones is set for.
Atlanta Falcon’s fans are well aware of the freak of an athlete that is Julio Jones. In an injury shortened season Jones still managed to rack up 1,409 yards and terrorize defenses demanding double and at times even triple coverage.
Jones is set for his best season yet though for several reasons as the Falcons head into the 2017 regular season. The biggest reason will be the fact that Matt Ryan is under new offensive leadership. Whenever Ryan has had to make a change in his game he leans on his number one receiver as the focal point of any offensive attack.
The last time it happened was two years ago and the season saw Jones pile up nearly 2,000 yards receiving. Not only that but Jones is coming off of a frustrating Super Bowl that saw him shut down for much of the game. While the spectacular catch he made is remembered by fans what is not remembered is the fact that he only had four targets through out the game.
While Jones is far from being a diva receiver the frustration level has to be high as it is for Ryan and Freeman who both were put in positions to win the game and failed . Julio Jones is un-guard able when healthy and with the new offense will have his fair share of targets.
Julio Jones is the best overall receiver in the NFL and is set to prove why he is the best all-together this season. The question will be can Jones’ team mates overcome the Super Bowl hangover that plagues so many teams.
