Atlanta Braves: Trade Deadline Players to Target Now

Okay you knew this one was coming from the moment you clicked on the article. Both because the fact that the Braves and Sonny Gray are consistently in the same rumors and the fact his picture was featured on the article probably didn’t hurt either.
Adding Gray would allow the Braves to move on from either Jaime Garcia who is set to be a free agent or the struggling Julio Teheran. But that reasoning alone is not enough to add Gray considering the hefty price.
What is a good enough reason to add Gray is the talent that he would bring to the Braves. He is a clear front line starter with an ability to pitch deep into games. Gray’s K rate is improving as well after a season last year that he struggled.
The longer the Braves wait to target the twenty-seven year old pitcher the more Gray’s trade value is going to grow. Trending in the right direction and a player that would make the team better for years to come if the price is not astronomical bringing Gray to Atlanta is a move the Braves need to make while they can it is time to finally win a bidding war for a top pitcher.
