NFL: Quarterback Power Rankings
By Kit Anderson
- Andy Dalton
Andy Dalton is the first unquestioned franchise quarterback in our rankings so far. Red rifle is a franchise quarterback who is good at a lot of things. He can scramble a little as well as having one of the more under-rate arms in the AFC.
Dalton’s problem has been his inability to win a playoff game or to live up to the hype in big games. He has the talent both himself and around him on the roster. While it is hard to say that will change this season in a stacked AFC Dalton is a good quarterback who shouldn’t be judged harshly simply based on his lack of playoff success.
His QBR of 91.8 is a good tell of his consistency, ranking ahead of several notable quarterbacks including Phillip Rivers and the next quarterback on this list.
The Bengals are trending in the wrong direction but remain a contending team and a team worth watching as long as Andy Dalton is under center. The problem for Dalton is not going to be keeping up his good number but rather how long before the fans get tired of the Bengals annual one and done playoff appearance let’s hope Dalton puts that to rest soon.
