  1. Joe Flacco

Playing quarterback in the NFL is all about two things, playoff wins, and consistency. Joe Flacco has had both in his career and continues to play at the same level even with a lack of talent around him on the roster.

Surrounded by aging and often over-rated players last season Flacco continued to put up the same numbers. One interesting note last season was the heat that Flacco took for being a laid back member of the team and not one of the more vocal leaders.

These comments came out from a former NFL teammate Ray Lewis and Flacco took a lot of heat in the media as to whether or not he was a leader. The fact that such a well respected former player like Ray Lewis had something negative to say about Flacco was surprising.  Flacco shrugged of the comments and Lewis quickly retracted them but it does leave some questions as to Flacco’s hold on the locker room.

Regardless, his on the field talent is above average and will continue to keep him as the unquestioned starter of the team this season. One area that Flacco is going to have to improve is the number of picks he throws with last years touchdown/pick ratio sitting at 20/15….
