NFL: Quarterback Power Rankings

1. Kirk Cousins

The Washington Redskins must be convinced that another Tom Brady is simply going to fall into their laps. Otherwise what valid explanation could they have for not singing Cousins to a long term deal? If you’re Cousins the whole shtick has to be getting old.

Cousins is a very good quarterback and a fiery leader who wants more than anything to win. If that does not make him a franchise quarterback I am not sure what would exactly. He may not be the most talented player at his position but in a League that is always looking for someone like Cousins the Redskins are crazy to not lock him up.

The Redskins have seen Cousins for two seasons now play at a high level with a fair amount of consistency.  His scrambling ability and ability to keep plays alive in and outside the pocket is under-rated though not the strongest part of his game.

His ability to read coverage and pick apart the secondary if they are even a bit off is what has separated him as well as his memorable fiery postgame lines that quickly are turned into memes. If your Washington it is time to pay the man because if they will not there are a dozen other teams that will.
