  1. Dak Prescott

Alright, I am raising my hand on this one. I was among the few who thought Prescott’s hot start was luck and the Cowboys hope was still in Tony Romo… Yup hard to get more wrong than that. What Dak Prescott did last season as a rookie is one of the best things you will see happen on a football field.

With half the fans and likely a portion of the players pulling against him and the most pressure on him of any athlete in football Dak not only came through but played the hardest position in the game at an elite level. If not for the years of experience they have on him Dak would demand a higher spot on this list based on last season.

Even though they exited early in the playoffs it was not on Dak’s shoulders. The young quarterback left no question that this was his team taking over from one of the top quarterbacks of the game and forcing him into retirement. While it may be a sad ending for Tony Romo it is the best we have seen a rookie quarterback look in a very long time. The pressure will be on him again this season to continue to live up to the hype he created.
