NFL: Quarterback Power Rankings

- Derek Carr
If you were not a Derek Carr fan before you watched his heartbreak over breaking his leg and ending the season after a breakout campaign you almost certainly are now. Unless of course you’re a Denver Broncos fan in which case there had to be a least bit of respect won for the person and competitor that Derek Carr is.
Watching Derek Carr a lot doesn’t jump out at you besides the fact that he does everything well without being elite with the exception of one thing. Carr’s understanding of his offense and ability to manipulate the defense to do exactly what he wants them to is as good as any quarterback’s in the game.
Yes, that includes Tom Brady. That is not to say that his capabilities athletically are as good as some of his peers rather that it sets him above many of them because of how good he is at misleading the defense and making the right play with the ball.
Carr and Marcus Mariota had both of their legs broken on the same day ending both team’s respective hopes. The freak nature of the injury is rare for a quarterback the fact it happened to them both on the same day let’s hope 2017 ends better for them both.
