NFL: Quarterback Power Rankings
By Kit Anderson
- Trevor Siemian/Paxton Lynch
If you had to pick the most interesting NFL quarterback job up for grabs this season it would be the Denver Broncos. Their roster is still stacked after winning the Super Bowl two years ago and with above average quarterback play more than capable of returning to the playoffs.
The reason for their low ranking is the unknown of who will get the job. Siemian is a solid game manager who likely will be in the League as a spot starter or back-up for years to come. He lacks the arm however, to be the franchise quarterback that the Broncos are wanting.
For that reason the edge has to be given to Paxton Lynch. Lynch will likely win the job headed into the season and is more than capable of leading this roster to the playoffs. The problem for Lynch is the fact that he can be turnover prone.
He is going to have to find a way to cut down on turnovers a bit this season and keep the Broncos defense off the field for longer periods of time. Lynch’s ability to scramble in and out of the pocket as well will separate him in this race and could end up making him one of the more interesting quarterbacks to watch in 2017.
