The Atlanta Braves are closing out what has been a very quick rebuild for a team that had been in the postseason year in and year out. Freddie Freeman recently spoke about the rebuilds success and how he believes the Braves are headed in the right direction.

The face of the Atlanta Braves is unquestionably Freddie Freeman. Freeman is the one player to continue to play at a high level as the Braves shipped off veterans and fan favorites over the last two seasons. Recently Freeman was asked about the rebuild and their ability to compete and had this to say:

It’s nice to see things starting to form into a team and not just form a minor league system,” said Freeman. “It’s been a tough two years; I don’t think anybody’s gonna sugarcoat that around here. We had a team where most teams said, ‘Oh, good, we’re playing the Braves.’ But I don’t think most teams say that anymore. Last year, we’d be 30 games under .500 at this point. It’s been so much better.”

Freeman is correct in both of his opinions the Braves may not be contending for a postseason spot but they are not longer a favorite opponent and they are headed in the right direction.

The Braves have completed one of the fastest rebuilds that the MLB has seen. With the goal to be competing for postseason next year the Braves seem to be on schedule. With a lot of improvements this season the Braves have looked much better and continued to build towards their future that is looking much brighter.

Next: Braves Off-season Targets

The farm system is one of the best  if not the best in baseball, the Braves will be in a position as well this off-season to chase top free agents on the market further improving their team.
