The Atlanta Braves are starting to finally be rewarded with their patience with rookie shortstop Dansby Swanson who is starting to look like the player he was expected to be.

For the Atlanta Braves it has been a long season in some aspects with injuries and losing streaks often being their biggest news stories as of late. That is starting to change as their young players are beginning to look like the young talented group many thought that they would be.

Dansby Swanson is included in this group, after struggling for most of the year and being sent down since returning Swanson has looked much better. While the last month may be a small sample size Swanson has looked great in that short time.

Hitting over .300 and hitting the ball with authority that we haven’t seen at all this season from Swanson. The step forward is exciting for Braves fans many of whom had given up on Swanson after his first two months of struggles.

The shortstop is showing why he is considered part of the Braves future long term. Another interesting note is that Swanson has drawn more walks then he has struck out at the plate which is an impressive number for any hitter.

Another noticeable change has been the fact that Swanson is yet to homer for the Braves since his return from the minor leagues.

He is focusing on making good contact and not taking swings to hit the ball out of the park every trip to the plate. The new outlook for the rookie is working and should help him continue to produce for the final month and a half of the season.
