Georgia Bulldogs: Week One Preview and Predictions
By Kit Anderson
The Georgia Bulldogs will open their season this weekend against a less than stellar opponent. The Bulldogs run heavy offense could struggle at times this weekend against what is an under-rated defense.
The Georgia Bulldogs will open the season against Appalachian State in Athens on Saturday. The season kicking off against App. State is a great way to start the season and warm up before facing tougher competition against Notre Dame the next week.
Saturday’s game will kick-off at 6:15 EST on ESPN after an afternoon of good football on the network. The biggest thing to watch early in the game is how the Dawg’s offensive line and running game looks against App. State.
This game should be an easy win but App. State does have an under-rated defense that could make the game challenging at times for the offensive line and running game. Jacob Eason will be under the spotlight as well as it will be his first game as a starter with a true threat that could take his job sitting behind him.
In the end the Bulldogs are going to wear down the defensive line and shut down what can get to be a predictable offense.
Final score prediction: Georgia Bulldogs-38 Appalachian State-17

Look for the Bulldogs to stumble a bit early against a surprising defense but to pull away and put this game well away in the second half. After a slow start as well Nick Chubb breaks a long run on his way to finishing the day with 150-plus yards with two scores.
