The Atlanta Braves are set to open a weekend slate of games against the Chicago Cubs. The defending World Series champions have had an up-and-down season but will be looking to take care of business against Atlanta as the postseason nears.

The Atlanta Braves will begin to start competing for views with college football this weekend and considering who they will face now is not a bad time for football to start. The Chicago Cubs will open up a four game weekend slate against the Braves tonight as they continue their postseason push.

While the majority of the focus in the NL has been on the record breaking Dodgers if there is one team with enough firepower to stop them come postseason time it would be the Chicago Cubs. Interestingly enough the Braves have often been cited as using the same rebuild pattern as the Cubs did not that long ago.

The series will be interesting for a number of reasons but the Braves chances of winning it shouldn’t be one of them.

Dansby Swanson and Ozzie Albies should be the main reason that Braves continue to tune in as the young middle infield duo are starting to look like the players they were thought to be. Freddie Freeman and Ender Inciarte are another two very good reasons to watch as well.

The Braves young pitching staff is something that should be paid attention to this weekend as well as they struggle to find any consistency from their young starters.
