The Georgia Bulldogs have win number one in the books against Appalachian State winning 31-10. One of the biggest take away from the game should be how much better the offensive line and Nick Chubb looked.

The Georgia Bulldogs focus may be on a potential quarterback controversy but it is important not to overlook in the win how good Nick Chubb and the offensive line looked. While it was far from dominant the Georgia offensive line looked to be much improved and in turn Chubb looked more like the electric running back he was before his injury.

Averaging over six yards a carry Chubb looked more like the explosive running back that fans were missing last season. In part that is due to the fact that Chubb looked to be in better shape and healthier.

The other part of it was the fact that an improved offensive line was actually pushing the defense around and appeared to be playing as a unit. Those are two things that the line was lacking all season last year.

Even when Chub broke runs it was often created space that he made or blown defensive assignments. The offensive line granted has not face anything close to the SEC challenge, but they took a big step forward this week and have improved since last season.

The offensive line is going to have to show more improvement for the Georgia Bulldogs if they are going to make a run at an SEC championship. The Bulldogs will travel and take on Notre Dame next week.
