The Atlanta Hawks roster has seen a major overhaul that has seen most all of it’s established talent leave. With little talent on the roster it is time for Dennis Schroder to do his best Russell Westbrook impression.

Calling the Atlanta Hawks roster anything but a mess wouldn’t be accurate. The roster has little to no depth and is full of unproven and veteran players that will likely leave the Hawks competing for the bottom of their conference.

The one player that Hawks fans should tune in to watch this season is Dennis Schroder.  Dennis is going to have to do his best Russell Westbrook impression this season for the Hawks. His growth has been very evident with him putting up his best year last season.

The point guard is going have to continue to grow into a top point guard and is going to have to take a huge step forward this season. Playing selfish basketball is not going to get you very far and Dennis has learned just that playing his first few seasons with the Hawks.

Russell Westbrook may take a lot of shots but anyone that watched an OKC game knows that he also works with his teammates well.   Dennis is going to have to pattern his game after Westbrook this season for two reasons.

The first is simple when he is on the floor with Dwight Howard and Paul Millsap gone at any point he will be the Hawks best scoring chance on the court. The second is the fact that he is going to have to take a step forward this year and continue to grow and give the fans a reason to watch the Hawks.

No question all eyes and all the pressure will be securely on the shoulders of the Hawks point guard this season, it is time to see what he can do.
