The Georgia Bulldogs are yet to give us an official word on the status of Jacob Eason but the reports that have come out make it sound likely Eason will miss several games.

Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Jacob Eason suffered a knee injury on what was a late shove out of bounds from an App. State defensive lineman. The shove may cost Eason his starting job and will almost certainly cost him several games this season.

Eason headed into the season as the Bulldogs quarterback with Jake Fromm ready to step in if needed. That need arose earlier than expected when Eason injured his knee. The injury initially appeared to be an ankle sprain after Eason got up slowly and limped back on the field.

The Bulldogs later clarified or rather didn’t that it was a knee sprain and that the severity was unknown. The fact that two days later we have no official word on Eason along with reports like this one seem to indicate that Eason will not be starting for the Bulldogs for some time.

That will give Jake Fromm a chance to cement the job and to show what he is capable of. Including how fast he can learn a playbook that he is still working on. The one knock on Fromm in game one was that fact that he didn’t seem to have great chemistry with the first string receivers.

Changing that is as simple as practicing with them and developing the needed chemistry. Brice Ramsey will serve as Fromm’s back-up as long as he remains the starter. Ramsey appeared in Saturday’s game turning the ball over twice The Bulldogs will travel Saturday to take on Notre Dame.
