The Atlanta Falcons are coming off of a torrid offensive season that saw them become the best offense in the League and Matt Ryan win the MVP award. Could Matt Ryan repeat as MVP this season?

With the Atlanta Falcons season starting this weekend there has been a lot of speculation as to how the offense will look with their new offensive coordinator. While there is some credit due to the offensive coordinator it is only fair to point out that the year before Matt Ryan and the offense struggled with the same offensive coordinator that helped guide them to a Super Bowl.

Matt Ryan has improved his game based on the fact he has an offensive line that can protect him and a running game he can count on. Not only that but he has improved his mobility in the pocket and his diet and overall health.

That showed last season when Matt Ryan won the first MVP of his career. Headed into the season with the same talent could Ryan win another this season?

It is worth noting that Brett Farve and Peyton Manning were the only quarterbacks in recent NFL history to win back to back MVP awards. For Ryan to win the award again the Falcons are going to have to be the same team they were last season if not better.

Ryan is more than capable of winning the MVP when you look at the offensive talent that he has surrounding him.  With Tom Brady due to take a step back and dare I suggest it look human there is no other team with as talented of a supporting cast as Ryan has.

Matt Ryan can win the MVP again this season if he continues to avoid turnovers and has the big play success that he did last season when he was obviously the best quarterback in the NFL.

Ryan is set for another big year and will no doubt have his name in the MVP discussion. What it will come down to is if Matt Ryan can thrive in the new offense and not force the ball to Julio Jones as he has in past when learning a new offense. The season will begin Thursday night with the NFL’s kick-off game and the Falcon’s playing their first game on Sunday.
