Georgia Bulldogs: Quarterback Job is Jake Fromm’s to Lose
By Kit Anderson
The Georgia Bulldogs will start Jake Fromm this weekend against Notre Dame. The true freshman will be the starting quarterback for now with Jacob Eason injured and an unknown return timeline.
The Georgia Bulldogs quarterback controversy has been put off for at least another week with the news that Eason will be unable to play this weekend and has an unknown recovery time. The only sure thing that we have heard about Eason’s injury is the fact that it is not season ending.
Jake Fromm will be the starting quarterback against Notre Dame the true freshman will become Georgia’s second straight true freshman quarterback to start after Eason took the job last year. With Eason injured and Fromm being given the reins suddenly the quarterback position is his to lose.
Georgia Bulldog fans are passionate to say the least and will quickly turn or rally behind a player regardless of potential or seniority. If Fromm plays well on Saturday night against a tough Notre Dame team then it will be Fromm’s job to lose likely.
While the fans may not be the ones making the decisions in college sports they often have more influence then many people realize. If they rally behind Fromm the Dawgs will be hard pressed not to put Eason back in as the starter.
Considering that a quarterback platoon never end well it is likely that Fromm could win the job with an effective start this weekend. Jacob Eason has the most pure arm strength of the two but there is no denying his struggles with accuracy.

Putting Fromm in is the obvious move to make with Brice Ramsey being the only other choice. The Bulldogs will take on Notre Dame this Saturday and no doubt all eyes will be squarely on Jake Fromm.
